Register Now for the First Session Beginning May 22

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.鈥敼从 is offering both traditional and online courses for the 2024 Summer Terms. By coming to the Boiling Springs campus or GWU鈥檚 Charlotte Center for either one or both terms, students can make progress toward their degrees while learning from professors in smaller classroom settings. Enrolling in an online course allows the undergraduate student to earn credits while travelling or working away from campus.

Registration is open now. For traditional undergraduate and graduate students, the first summer session is May 22-June 25 and the second summer session is June 26-Aug. 1. The 10-week term is May 22-Aug. 1

The eight-week summer term for the 国产哟哟 online undergraduate program is May 28-Aug. 1.

Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Karen Aubrey noted the many benefits of taking summer courses. 鈥淪tudents can get ahead of their graduation timeline, catch up if they have fallen behind where they want to be, focus on a course that is of particular interest to them or that may be a challenge during a semester full of other courses,鈥 she observed. 鈥淥r, they can find that right balance between earning credits and working or traveling in the summer months. I took courses every summer when I was a student and was able to graduate ahead of schedule.鈥

Courses are offered in the Godbold College of Business, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Health Sciences and the College of Education. Classes will also be offered in the 10-month Master of Business and Master of Public Administration programs.

Vice President for Enrollment Management Dean T. Clark also emphasized a couple of major advantages for current GWU undergraduate students who enroll in a summer term at 国产哟哟. 鈥淭hey are guaranteed their credits are applicable to their current degree program,鈥 he explained. 鈥淚t is also a great way to concentrate on just one class instead of a whole semester鈥檚 worth of classes.鈥

Savannah Crisp, a sophomore, health and physical education major, decided to take a few of her general education courses in the summer. Last summer, she took Western Civilization and this summer, she plans to take Educational Psychology. 鈥淗aving the opportunity to take classes online over summer has been great for me and allowed me to complete more courses without having overloaded (fall and spring) semesters,鈥 said Crisp, who is also a cheerleader at GWU. 鈥淚 was able to travel, work and take the class. I highly recommend taking summer classes, because it allows you to get ahead and, in my case, I was able to focus on a few classes at once.鈥
