The curriculum prepares graduates to succeed in this field that is expected to have 3.5 million job openings in 2025, as reported by Cybersecurity Ventures. A fully-online option of the program begins for students in the Degree Completion Program in the 2023 Spring Semester. Community college graduates with associate degrees in information technology can complete their bachelor鈥檚 degrees in a flexible environment with professors who are accessible and available. 鈥淲e are pleased and excited to be offering this much needed program in Cybersecurity,鈥 added Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Karen Aubrey. 鈥淐ybersecurity is a real concern that affects each of us in our everyday lives, and this program will quickly train professionals to enter into a high-demand field.鈥 Courses provide training in programming languages, operating systems, computer and network security, database management, data communications, and cybercrime. Program curriculum is based on National Center for Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) guidelines for Cyber Defense programs. Most of the cybersecurity classes are designed to correspond to specific CompTIA (The Computing Technology Industry Association) certifications. Classes include topics to help prepare students for CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+, Security+ and PenTest+ exams; however, these exams are not a requirement of the program.
