The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program consists of 60 credit hours. The Doctor of Ministry in Christian Ministries degree at ¹ú²úÓ´Ó´ School of Divinity is an advanced professional degree that immerses you in scholarship, focused faith formation, and the development of educational strategies needed to sustain a commitment to ministry as life-long learning.

Curriculum

What You’ll Learn

The first doctorate offered by ¹ú²úÓ´Ó´, the Doctor of Ministry in Christian Ministries is an advanced professional degree for ministers. The thirty (30) hour degree program addresses ministry issues developing naturally from the global community, and it seeks to enhance the capacity of the minister to engage in theological reflection in the real world in the service of the church. With seminars offered on Thursdays and Fridays, the degree may be completed in three years.

Program Objectives:

  • The student will understand ministry as a commitment to life-long learning.
  • The student will develop an appropriate biblical hermeneutic which incorporates both Old and New Testament studies and fosters meaningful biblical and theological reflection.
  • The student will develop an understanding of the church, and her/his role in it, within the global context, and the capacity to reflect theologically on the implications of that global context for the nature and ministry of the church.
  • The student will demonstrate the ability to reflect upon the nature of one’s ministry by conceptualizing and executing an original project in ministry, reflecting theologically on that project, and defending the project to a committee of faculty and other ministry professionals.

Doctor of Ministry in Christian Ministries

The Doctor of Ministry in Christian Ministries is a degree program comprised of three components: seminars, supervision, and a ministry project. 

Five seminars are required, for which eighteen (18) credit hours will be awarded. Of the five seminars, two are mandatory – the Ministry of Life-Long Learning, and the Ministry of Biblical Interpretation.

The remaining three seminars may be chosen at the discretion of the student and her/his faculty advisor.

The Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program goals are:

  5. To promote the use of assessments and data for school and district improvement;

Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction students develop professional learning modules based on needs identified through assessments of their own schools and school districts. Modules are developed in accordance with a comprehensive rubric, assessed by cross-cohort peers, and evaluated by faculty. Certain modules are identified to be published in Digital Commons, an institutional repository maintained by ¹ú²úӴӴ’s Dover Library, for use by other educators. This collection of professional learning modules is titled  (Instructional modules for professional learning: Responding to opportunities and valuing educators).

Doctor of Education in Curriculum & Instruction

Students in the Doctor of Education in Curriculum & Instruction program must hold at least a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 3.0 grade point average on all graduate-level work. A minimum of three years of experience is preferred and a teacher’s license is required. Applicants without a teaching license must provide a letter stating their teaching experience. Each semester students will take one course (6 or 12 credit hours) along with a one credit hour dissertation seminar.

The 63-credit hour program is offered in a hybrid format with participants required to attend class three weekends each fall and spring semesters. Each weekend consists of Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the summer months, candidates will attend seven face-to-face sessions, two of which will be as part of the College of Education’s Graduate Summit . This process continues for two years until classroom studies are completed. After this, your next two semesters will be six-hour and three-hour dissertation semesters respectively, thus concluding your program. The electronic portfolio, a requirement for your degree, will be created and stored online in a product called TaskStream.

What You’ll Do

Upon completion of this program, students will have earned a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and will be eligible to take the Praxis in order to be licensed as a Curriculum and Instructional Specialist. Students in the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership program must hold at least a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 3.0 grade point average on all graduate-level work. A minimum of three years experience is preferred. A license in School Administration-Principal is required.

Become a clinical leader in healthcare 

The ¹ú²úÓ´Ó´ Doctor of Nursing Practice helps experienced nurses grow into patient care leadership and expert specialty roles. You’ll have a direct impact on improving healthcare outcomes through evidence-based practice. 

Our program helps you continue working and caring for your personal responsibilities while advancing your education. Your coursework is fully online with once per semester on-campus intensives. You’ll develop strong relationships with your faculty and peers, and they’ll support you during your program and as you transition into practice. Within our faith-based community, you’ll see the world of healthcare through a Christian lens. 

Besides completing your online coursework, you’ll be able to fulfill your practicum experience in your desired specialty in local healthcare and education settings. As part of your program, you’ll also execute an evidence-based project over four semesters, gaining academic knowledge to use throughout your career.

What You’ll Learn

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program at ¹ú²úÓ´Ó´ offers three options designed to meet the needs of nurses seeking expanded roles in their profession: Post-MSN (36 credit hours), Family Nurse Practitioner (79 credit hours), and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (81 credit hours). In addition to the three areas of concentrated study, the DNP program offers a post-doctoral certificate option for doctoral-prepared nurses who desire to pursue Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification.

Post-Baccalaureate Family Nurse Practitioner

The DNP-FNP program option prepares practitioners to provide primary care to populations across the lifespan within a community setting. Students will develop a variety of skills including Assessment and management of acute and chronic illness, promoting wellness and disease prevention, and the ability to integrate the best evidence into practice. The program is a 79-credit hour post-bachelor’s entry program offered in a blended format, with the majority of classes taken online and enriched with occasional on-campus visits. This program option is offered with a 3-year or 4-year plan of study. A 40-credit hour Post-Doctoral Certificate for Family Nurse Practitioner is available for students who have completed the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree but not the coursework required for certification and practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Post-Baccalaureate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

The DNP-PMHNP program option assists practitioners in developing expert knowledge and skills for promoting and facilitating optimal mental health across the lifespan. Students will develop a variety of skills including Psychiatric assessment, mental health diagnosis, holistic treatment planning, and integrated practice. The program is an 81-credit hour program post-bachelor entry offered in a blended format, with a majority of classes taken online and enriched with occasional on-campus visits. This program option is offered with a 3-year or 4-year plan of study. A 42-credit hour Post-Doctoral Certificate for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is available for students who have completed the Doctor of Nursing Practice degree but not the coursework required for certification and practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Post-Master’s Track

The post-master’s DNP program option deepens your knowledge of nursing leadership and nursing education while preparing you to improve healthcare outcomes through evidence-based practice. This program is a 36-credit hour postmaster’s entry program offered in a blended format with the majority of classes taken online, enriched with occasional on-campus visits. What You’ll Learn

With a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership, you will develop the knowledge and ability to excel in leadership roles in a variety of settings.  The program offers an environment of learning through which professionals can advance their leadership skills while sharing ideas and experiences with other business and academic professionals.

Structured with the working adult in mind, the program provides experiences that allow the candidates to contribute to both their workplace environment and their educational cohort throughout the course of study. Participants gain a network of support as they move together through their classes, providing the maximum benefit from individual experiences and communities of collaboration. 

The consultancy/practicum project is an integral part of each semester’s course work. The intent is to provide you with an opportunity to apply the theory and best practices to actual challenges with which you may be confronted in your professional endeavors.

As a participant in the program, you will:

  • Better understand organizations through knowledge of leadership theory, organizational cultures, decision-making processes and practice
  • Apply organizational theory to the needs of their own organizations to increase understandings of institutions and their stakeholders
  • Participate in appropriate field experiences focusing on authentic leadership development
  • Acquire skills to address challenges facing institutions today and apply them in a simulated environment

Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership

Students in the Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership program must hold at least a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum 3.0 grade point average on all graduate-level work. A minimum of three years experience is preferred. Other requirements include the submission of three letters of reference, a cohort registration form, and a personal essay explaining their purpose for obtaining an advanced degree.

The 63-credit hour program consists of nine semesters. The consecutive semesters include any summer sessions that fall in the sequence. The cohort concept is employed such that students move together through their classes providing the maximum benefit from individual experiences and communities of collaboration. The consultancy/practicum project is an integral part of each semester’s course work. The intent is to provide the student an opportunity to apply the theory and best practices to actual challenges they are confronted with.

The program is comprised of two tiers. The first tier is the core course modules. This consists of the first six semesters. These modules address concepts such as cultural development in organizations, leading in a learning organization, change management, ethics, conflict resolution, strategic planning, program evaluation, qualitative research, and e-learning. Semesters seven through nine include, but are not limited to, the following specialized course modules: policy development, business law, innovation and transformation, cultural development, and self and collective efficacy. Classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays for three weekends per Fall and Spring semesters, and eight days during the Summer semester. In the Summer, four of the eight days are on campus and four are synchronous online meetings. 

Other requirements include the submission of three letters of reference, a cohort registration form, and a personal essay explaining their purpose for obtaining an advanced degree.

What You’ll Learn

The Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling (D.Min.) degree is designed for the student who seeks professional preparation in the area of pastoral care and counseling or who serves in specialized clinical settings and/or who ministers to the needs of missionaries and their families. The student whose goal is to enhance pastoral care in parish ministry may pursue the Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling degree.

The program of study requires a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological institution and sufficient experiences in ministry to ensure a level of maturity appropriate to engage the intensity of the program design.

Accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), seminars are offered as intensive, turbo-courses, and the degree may be completed in three years.

The Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling is a thirty (30) hour degree program comprised of three components: seminars, supervision, and a ministry project. Five seminars are required for which eighteen (18) credit hours will be earned. Our doctoral students enrolled in the Pastoral Care and Counseling program follow a unique schedule that is comprised of one (1) week to ten (10) day intensive seminars that meet all day.

The Supervision Experience

Our Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling students will register for six (6) hours of Supervised Ministry. The Supervised Ministry seminar includes 400 hours of supervised ministry, with a minimum of 100 hours in group/peer experiences or individual supervision. The supervision experience may be held in an institutional setting (i.e., hospital, hospice, prison, etc.), including Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), Pastoral (or Marriage and Family) Counseling, or Parish Ministry. The supervision experience will be approved by the School of Divinity’s Department of Pastoral Care and Counseling.

The Final Project

Our Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling students will design, implement, and reflect upon a self-directed, original project of ministry conducted in her/his ministry setting. Upon completion of the Final Project, six (6) credit hours are earned.
